Yesterday was indeed a day to celebrate in Stratford!
Hundreds of children, teachers, parents and guests were invited to Glen Stewart School to help celebrate the official opening of the new boundless playground “Eagle’s Nest”. What’s so special about this playground?
This beautiful, colourful, interactive, playground is accessible to ALL children. Children with any special type of challenge can play on, in and around this incredible structure. Children using wheelchairs can finally play with other children in this setting. This is a safe, creative and inspiring place, that just isn’t attractive to children but for so-called grown-ups as well. Here I am about to take the adventure!
The other very cool thing about this playground is that the ground/floor is bouncy and soft. When you walk on it your steps are absorbed into the rubbery composite. Imagine a soft landing after a quick descent from a slippery slide!!
Congratulations to all of the volunteers who made this great project possible. The second of it’s kind in all of Canada!
This is a good thing! Now go play!!!
