Last night took the Liberal team to Morell-Mermaid and Vernon River-Stratford. Two entirely different events and two great new candidates. I won’t deny that there was some tension in the air at the Fort Augustus Rec Centre. No one knew for sure if someone would nominate themselves from the floor or who that might be.

I commend Doug Deacon for stepping forward for a second time to ask for support in his district. I also applaud him for asking the Liberals in his district to move on and work together to fight the fight. I hope people can put aside their differences and focus on the task at hand.

Then over to the St. Joachim’s Church Hall in Vernon River. The place was packed to the rafters….literally. There was huge support for both candidates and you could feel it in the room. It was very exciting. Both candidates gave great speeches. Both candidates, very well connected to their community. Alan MacIsaac won the nomination and the evening ended with Charlotte coming up on stage to put her support behind Alan. A true sign of support and friendship.
